Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Chef José Antonio Mármol developed a special interest for the kitchen from a very young age, admiring all the Venezuelan and European cooks he encountered.
Always bound to the world of gourmet food, he began his culinary trajectory in the summer of 2003 with the well-known Venezuelan Chef, Eduardo Moreno. With Chef Moreno’s recommendation, Chef Mármol decided to move to Barcelona, Spain in 2004 and begin his culinary studies. In 2005, Chef Mármol graduated with a Masters in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management from EUTH St Pol de Mar. He experienced unforgettable moments with well-known chefs from Europe, Brazil, and Venezuela.
In 2006, he moved back to his hometown Caracas and opened a catering company- Pret a Porter Gourmet. In 2007, he attended Sabor e Saber in Tiradentes, Brazil and had the pleasure of working among recognized Chef Alex Gares (Berasategui), Chef Montse Estruch (El Cingle), Chef Ismael Alonso (Arola Arts) and South American Chef Alex Atala (D.O.M. – Sao Paulo) and Chef Lucas Neri (Argentina).
After four successful years in the catering world, Chef Mármol decided for yet another experience in his professional life.
